The wedding and reception was held on June 19, 2010 at the Heritage Freewill Baptist Church. The colors were pale yellow and white. The cake is buttercream with chocolate and vanilla as the cake flavors. The flowers are gumpaste. A groom's cake in the shape of a pizza was ordered for the groom! The wedding style was definitely about the bling!! A candy bar and photo booth also were on hand for guests to enjoy.
Here are some highlights of the reception..

Gems, Gems and more Gems
I love learning new things in life. In the cake world, there are so so many techniques to try. For me, the question is where to start! I finally decided a technique - learning how to make those edible sugar gems. They are one of the hot wedding trends...bling, bling and more bling. Instead of having to buy them, I thought I would learn to make them. After doing my research on product used to produce them and molds to create these cute gems, I decided it was time to give it a try!
I had to use a product called isomalt and you have to super careful when using it. It can cause a very serious burn if it touches your skin. While "playing" I decided to create some colored ones as well.
Here are some photos of my gems. I look forward to incorporating them with my cakes!
